Shellie Poulter

Pay It Forward Fund (PIFF) Co-Ordinator

Shellie works closely with the rest of the Operational Team and our members to ensure that the organisation are paying it forward to as many people as we can, in the most effective wrap around support system possible.

Shellie has been successfully self employed as a Physical Therapist and doula since 2005. She has been working and volunteering for the Happy Baby Community, a London based charity supporting pregnant mothers and those with young babies and children for over three years, working as part of the management team for some of that time and including roles as the Referrals Co-ordinator and as one of the amazing doula team, supporting women facing multiple disadvantage.

Shellie qualified as an Osteopath over 15 years ago and has taught bodywork techniques at master’s degree level. She is passionate about supporting the anatomy and physiology of birth and education of birth workers on her five-star birthing biomechanics courses.

Shellie is hugely passionate about providing doula support and care to people who are not otherwise able to afford it. The evidence for improving birth outcomes for birthing people and babies, improving breastfeeding rates and improving perinatal mental health are overwhelming and their long-term positive impact upon society, both emotionally, financially, and physically cannot be denied. This is hugely important work.
