​How to Apply For Support through
The Doula Association Pay it Forward Programme - PIFP
​


In order to apply to The Doula Association Pay it Forward Programme (PIFP), you must fulfil our eligibility criteria which are as follows: 

  • Are experiencing financial hardship and are on income support (please provide document evidence)

OR are experiencing financial hardship (but are not eligible or have not yet been able to claim income support) AND fulfil one or more of the following criteria (evidence will need to be provided):  

  • Are fleeing domestic violence or abuse  
  • Are a survivor of trafficking and are seeking asylum 
  • Have no recourse to public funds status 
  • Are homeless or living in temporary accommodation  
  • Have a disability that significantly impacts your daily life and can provide a letter from a healthcare provider to show this 
  • Have a mental health condition that significantly impacts your daily life and can provide a letter from a healthcare provider to show this 
  • Are in the prison or probation system

If you fulfil the above criteria, please complete our online referral application form if you wish to apply for support. The process is as follows: 
​
  • Complete the online referral application form for TDA PIFP 
  • The Doula Association will notify you within 7 days. If your application is successful, you will be issued with a unique voucher code. 
  • You can then look on The Doula Directory to find the right TDA PIFP doula for you. TDA PIFP doulas can be identified on the directory as an option to pick in the drop-down choices.
  • You will then need to contact the doula or doulas you feel might be right for you and have a conversation with them to check their availability and see who feels like the right doula for you. Please then contact TDA to let us know which doula will be working with you. 
  • Payment will be made directly to the doula from The Doula Association. Please give them your unique voucher code when you have given birth or finished working with them.  

The doulas of The Doula Association are independent business owners/self-employed persons and as such, The Doula Association do not accept any liability or responsibility should there be adverse outcomes either to the birthing person or the baby or their property, through the engagement of a doula from the TDA PIFP. The Doula Association does not act as an agent of the doula, they are self employed in their own right. Doulas are not trained to give clinical assistance or medical advice and cannot and do not replace the care provided by your doctor or midwife.
