​Elizabeth Odunlami

Multicultural & Diversity Lead


Elizabeth offers both pregnancy and birth support. She also runs a business focussed on providing people from the African diaspora a way to integrate their cultural identity into their day to day wear. Elizabeth has an international and inclusive outlook and she believes that personal expression and the celebration of all cultures is key to the development of society at large.  She came to work as a birth companion with the desire to help move antenatal education for expectant families firmly to the mainstream. In particular, supporting families to understand their options in relation to pregnancy and birth care and develop their ability to advocate for themselves ensuring consent led care. Elizabeth is also passionate about eradicating race related disparities in birth outcomes.
 
Prior to her work within the birth community, Elizabeth worked at a number of international organisations ranging from investment banking to government and international development.
 
Elizabeth is an unregistered barrister; she has been called to the Bar of England and Wales and holds the following qualifications:
  • BirthBliss Academy, Doula Training Course
  • LL.M Public International Law, Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London, School of Law
  • Bar Vocational Course, BPP Law School
  • LLB Hons Law, London Metropolitan University
